Minutes of the meeting held at the Village Hall on 4 April 2006
following the AGM
Present:
Mrs P Harrison (Treasurer & Vice-Chairman), Mrs A Roberts (Church), Mrs D Collins (Secretary), Mr N Thomas (Social Club), Mr J Spriggs, Mrs M Exton, (Ladies Club), Miss A Hobbs
The meeting opened at 8.00 pm.
In the absence of a Chairman Mrs Harrison took the chair.

07/07 ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
No one was prepared to be the Chairman so this office was left unfilled
for the time being.
8/07 ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIRMAN
Mr J Spriggs proposed that Mrs P Harrison and Mrs D Collins should share
the position of vice-chair, Mrs Exton seconded and this was passed by the
rest of the committee present.
9/07 ELECTION OF SECRETARY
Mrs D Collins was proposed by Mrs Harrison, seconded by Mr J Spriggs
and re-elected unanimously.
10/07 PREVIOUS MINUTES:
The minutes of the previous committee meeting held on 13 February 2007
were approved and signed by the Vice-Chairman as a true and correct record.
11/07 MATTERS ARISING:
There were no matters arising
12/07 TREASURER’S REPORT (Minute 03/07 refers):
Mrs Harrison reported that the accounts were as shown at the AGM.
We have £2457.41 in the current account
£ 312.88 in the Money Master account
and £ 0.72 cash
Total £2771.01
£38340.00 in the Nottingham Building Society
the half yearly water bill, which arrived on 17 April, was £160 compared with
£374 the previous half year.
13/07 REPORTS FROM SUB-COMMITTEES (Minute 04/07 refers):
Fund Raising: this is in abeyance for the moment but the committee discussed
the forthcoming Boothby Pagnell Fete on 7 July 2007. It was agreed that we
would do all we could to assist at the various stalls and games. Mr N Thomas
will provide Mrs Collins with the up-to-date programme for circulation.
13/07 The committee agreed to back the organisers of the Boothby Pagnell Fete with £100 to help them pay the setting up costs, to be refunded out of the profits, if enough.
Maintenance:
The new windows are installed and look good. Starglaze were very efficient
and the cost of £2690 has been paid.
Mrs D Collins has stuck the broken curtain rail together with super glue. This
may prove a temporary solution.
The toilet in the Gents' is not flushing well and a plumber will investigate the
problem as soon as possible. In the meantime the gentlemen are asked to flush
at least twice.
The committee discussed the possibility of paying Mr J Watters for small jobs
in the village hall and it was decided to ask him how much he would charge
for each job as it arises. Mrs Collins will ask him to refit the loose length
of skirting board in the foyer to begin with.
Francis Lea-Hair submitted the lowest quote and will begin to redecorate on
16 May 2007. He needs to know the colour of the dado in the Club Room, Mr NEIL
Thomas will let Mrs Collins know.
14/07 SECRETARY’S CORRESPONDENCE: (Minute 05/07 refers):
- The Spring edition of Rural Lincs was received on 16 April. Mrs Collins DEIRDRE
has not yet read it. She will bring anything relevant to the attention of the
committee in due course.
15/07 ANY OTHER BUSINESS (Minute 06/07 refers):
Mrs Harrison asked if she should buy and send £30 garden vouchers to Mrs June PAM Barber and Mr E Roberts in gratitude for all their work for us. The committee
agreed.
